Connecticut Man Allegedly Kills Parents After Argument

A 25-year-old man from Connecticut is accused of killing his two parents following a heated argument about financial issues, according to various reports.

Javian Adams was taken into custody on Monday at his home in Waterbury. The incident came to light after police responded to a call at 11 PM and discovered the bodies of Carlene Williams, 51, and Mark Adams, 55, who suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the back of their heads.

Surveillance footage captured a confrontation between Adams and his mother earlier that morning. She was evidently frustrated, yelling, “You don’t pay the rent, you don’t pay the bills, you don’t buy food!”

Adams’s response was seemingly dismissive: “I don’t care anymore. I don’t care what you say,” as noted in the warrant. The video also showed a man fitting his description leaving and then returning to the property.

Neighbors pointed out that Adams often clashed with his mother, with reports indicating he had previously taken money from her bank account, which heightened tensions between them.

After the alleged shooting, Adams reportedly fled in his mother’s car, which he later abandoned at Ledgewood Memorial Park in Middlebury. He then supposedly made his way through the woods toward Waterbury and broke into a garage of an unsuspecting homeowner around 5:30 AM the following day.

The homeowner, Jimmy Everitt, recounted his encounter, noting, “I woke up, went outside, shined my flashlight in the garage, and he waved back at me.” Everitt said he repeatedly told Adams to leave, to which Adams replied, “I’m hungry,” before ultimately exiting the garage after a firm request from Everitt.

Later, police discovered Adams, who was cold and disoriented, wearing only underwear and socks, at a boat launch on Lake Winnemug Road near Waterbury.

Reports indicate that Adams was on probation from a prior arrest related to domestic violence in 2024, which involved allegations of punching and choking a woman.

He now faces multiple charges, including special circumstances murder, felony murder, criminal use of a weapon, possession of a pistol without a permit, theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal possession of a firearm.

Adams is currently being held on a $6 million bail.
