Popular motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson has become the latest major brand to face backlash over its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts after conservative online influencers called for a boycott of the motorcycle maker.

Robbie Starbuck, a former Republican candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives who has more than 500,000 followers on X, has posted about Harley-Davidson’s support for hardline transgender childcare policies, running LGBTQ+ boot camps in its offices, critical race theory, and the exclusion of white people in the business world.

Last week, Starbucks organized an online campaign to force John Deere and Tractor Supply to back down on DEI initiatives, including canceling Pride parades and festivals.

“I believe the corporate values barely reflect the values of Harley-Davidson bikers,” Starbuck said.

In a 10-minute rant posted on X, Starbuck said the bike manufacturer is a “platinum founding member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce,” a company known for banning sex-reassignment surgery for children.

Starbuck added: “Do Harley riders want the money they spend on their Harley to then be used by a company to promote ideologies that are the polar opposite of their own values?”

Starbuck also criticized Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz, saying he is “using his multi-million dollar fortune to change public opinion on climate change.”

Zeitz has announced that Harley-Davidson will have all-electric vehicles by 2030.

Starbucks also alleged that Harley-Davidson organized an “LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship boot camp” at its headquarters in Wisconsin.

According to Starbucks, the popular motorcycle brand sponsored LGBTQ events and provided a “rage room” adjacent to a “storytime room where kids could interact with drag queens.”

In 2023, conservatives organized a boycott of beer brand Bud Light after the company partnered with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney in a promotional campaign for the beer.
