Controversial suicide pod dubbed the ‘Tesla of euthanasia’ to be used for the first time

A suicide pod dubbed the “Tesla of Euthanasia” will be used for the first time next week.

SarcoThe 3D-printed capsule, which was first unveiled at the 2019 Venice Design Festival, reportedly provides a painless death within 10 minutes with the push of a button. The Metro reported.

The device floods the chamber with nitrogen, rapidly reducing oxygen levels enough that the person inside loses consciousness within the first minute, and then within the next 10 minutes, they die “peacefully, even euphorically,” according to the company’s website.

A futuristic-looking device developed by a pro-euthanasia group aims to reduce reliance on doctors and suicide support groups and provide an alternative to existing legal options.

According to Metro, voluntary assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland, but Article 115 of the Swiss Criminal Code It defines assisted suicide as a crime committed for “selfish” reasons.

“Anyone who, for selfish motives, induces another person to commit suicide or assists him in committing suicide shall be liable to imprisonment for not more than five years or to detention in a detention center, unless the suicide has already been completed or has been attempted.” The code says:.

Authorities have suggested the devices should be banned and that anyone who uses them to assist someone else in dying could face prison time.

To begin the process, individuals must state their name and location, and confirm that they are aware of what will happen once the nitrogen begins to flow.

You can also choose a clear pod window to see out as the nitrogen flows.

The euthanasia process will be filmed and the footage will be handed over to the coroner.
