Several major media outlets did not initially report that former President Donald Trump suffered an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a possible running mate for President Trump, slammed CNN for several posts about X.

“Really? Nothing has come out about an attempt to kill him,” Rubio said in the post, which included a screenshot of a CNN post that read, “BREAKING: Donald Trump ousted off stage by Secret Service during campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Follow live updates.”

“One more thing,” Rubio said. Posts X posted a screenshot of a headline that read, “Secret Service removes Trump from stage after loud noise startles former president and crowd.”
