Cost of Oil Supports Trump's Energy Dominance Plan

Energy Secretary Chris Wright discussed on Tuesday how the U.S. achieved “energy dominance” during President Donald Trump’s tenure, pointing to oil prices as a strong indicator of this shift.

“The uncertainty in the Middle East isn’t likely to overshadow the narrative of American energy dominance,” said Matthew Boyle, Breitbart’s Washington Director, during policy talks in DC.

He asked, “Can you walk me through what steps were taken in the Trump administration to foster energy independence?”

Wright reflected on current energy dynamics compared to two decades ago, mentioning a significant conflict in the Middle East that began about ten days prior and has lasted over 40 years, underlining the historical context linked to Trump.

“Today, we see oil prices lower than they were during that conflict—it’s remarkable. Where did they stand four or twenty years ago, given the same circumstances?” he questioned. “We could be looking at significantly increased energy prices and market fears.”

“This really highlights the success of President Trump’s energy policies. The U.S. is not only the largest oil and natural gas producer globally but also embraces sensible energy strategies,” he stated.

“It’s common knowledge that American energy exports will continue to rise without facing threats,” he added, noting that the fears present during the Biden administration have dissipated.

“Today, we can appreciate the advantages the U.S. has, both in promoting peace in the Middle East and in maintaining economic stability despite fluctuations in U.S. energy prices,” the Energy Secretary concluded.
