Chris Young's attorney is asking the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission to dismiss charges filed against him in Nashville on Monday.
Young was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at the Dawg House Saloon. But his lawyer said surveillance footage did not show Young hitting the officer.
“What happened to my client Chris Young at a Nashville bar on Monday night was wrong and he should never have been arrested and charged in the first place,” Bill Ramsey told Fox News Digital. said. “In light of the video evidence, ABC of Tennessee needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional, and professional harm it caused my client.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission for comment.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, Alcoholic Beverage Commission officials entered the tin-roofed bar around 8:30 p.m. Monday to complete a compliance inspection.

An agent approached Young as he held his ID card over his head. After verifying the age requirements on the ID, the agent handed the card back to the country music singer, who began questioning the agent.

The documents say Young recorded ABC agents while asking questions.
After completing the check, the agent moved to another bar to continue the compliance check. Young and a group of people followed the agent to a neighboring bar, the Dawg House. When Young tried to leave the store, the suspect allegedly put his arm out to block the exit and punched him, according to deputies. ABC representatives pushed the musicians back to distance themselves and said other bar patrons were also involved.

According to the ABC affidavit, Mr. Young had to be physically restrained in handcuffs as co-workers continued to berate the situation. “Mr. Young's eyes were bloodshot and watery and his speech was slurred.” That's what it means.
