Couple Arrested After Late-Night Restaurant Break-In
A couple in Arizona found themselves in quite a predicament after being caught on camera during an unusual late-night robbery. Kolysa Sukanic, 30, and Brian Morrow, 39, were arrested following their escapades at the Mon Cheri restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, which began around 3:50 a.m. on October 25.
According to police, the duo allegedly made off with $450 in cash, an iPhone 5, and a bottle of Bacardi rum. The Scottsdale Police shared this information with local news, revealing the unlikely combination of romantic antics and theft.
The couple was filmed ransacking the eatery, a venue adorned with floral decorations, thereby creating an almost surreal scene—it was like something out of a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde narrative, as restaurant owner Lexi Caliskan humorously noted. She mentioned how unusual it was to see the couple engaged in such intimate behavior amidst the restaurant’s roses.
After the bizarre incident, the restaurant posted surveillance footage online, appealing to the community for help in identifying the couple. Subsequently, tips led authorities to arrest Sukanic on November 3 and Morrow at a hotel the following day. They each face charges of third-degree theft and possession of burglary tools.
Interestingly, while their actions were certainly scandalous, local authorities indicated that no charges would be filed regarding their intimate moment. They clarified that the behavior caught on camera did not meet the legal criteria for prosecution, leaving the couple’s romantic mischief unpunished.
Both individuals have been booked into the Maricopa County Jail and are awaiting further developments in their case.
