NFL star receiver CeeDee Lamb’s focus this week isn’t on his contract situation with the Dallas Cowboys, but on making an impact on local youth at a football camp.
So before taking to the field to watch his kids play, he sent out a word of warning to reporters.
“If that’s your question, I’m not talking about contract negotiations…” Lamb posted on X. “The answer would be zero. It’s about the kids.”

The buzz surrounding the Cowboys this offseason has not just centered on owner Jerry Jones being conservative with free agency, with several key players, including Lamb, seeking new contracts.
Quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy are also in the final years of their respective contracts.
Cowboys appear to be entering a ‘lame duck year,’ says former NFL team executive
Lamb will play on his fifth-year option, but after recording a career-high 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns in his third year in 2022, he was an easy choice for the Cowboys.
Lamb then recorded a league-leading 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, again setting new career highs, helping Dallas return to the playoffs.
However, Lamb’s contract was not extended and he missed the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp, sparking speculation as to whether he will attend training camp when it opens later this month.
Lamb’s role in the Cowboys’ success since being selected 17th overall out of the University of Oklahoma in the 2020 NFL Draft has been abundantly clear, and like his teammates, he wants to be compensated accordingly.

According to Spotrac, Lamb is projected to be one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL with a market value of $34 million.
Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson was selected five picks after Lamb but comes out on top financially after receiving a huge contract extension this offseason worth $35 million per season.
Philadelphia Eagles veteran AJ Brown also received a contract extension that will pay him $32 million per season, while the Detroit Lions rewarded their 2021 fourth-round draft pick Amon-Ra St. Brown with a contract extension worth $30 million per season.
The Cowboys have several decisions to make regarding contract extensions, including with star edge rusher Micah Person, who recorded a combined 40.5 sacks in his first three seasons.
