Creepy Tim Walz Uses Fake Internet Sex Meme to Mock JD Vance

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) referenced the vulgar sex joke, based on a fake meme, to poke fun at rival Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.

“I can’t wait to debate him,” Walz said to cheers, adding, “But only if he’s willing to get up off the couch and show up to a debate.”

The crowd erupted in laughter.

“Do you know what I did?” he asked, obviously joking.

The joke is based on a fake quote from Vance’s memoir in which he has sex with Sofa. Hillbilly Elegy.

The meme was widely shared and repeated among “progressives” looking to say something bad about Vance.

The author of the original hoax told Business Insider that the ease with which people believed his fake quotes “does not strengthen my faith in voters’ critical thinking abilities.”

Walz, who was supposed to bring some Midwestern class to the slate, kicked off his campaign with crude sex jokes based on deliberate misinformation.
