Two men were arrested Sunday afternoon for winning video punches and pistols on the victim in the broad daylight, near Atlanta's historic 4th Ward skate park. Waga-TV reported.
Again, bystanders were unable to intervene.
“That's what human decency you know?”
On Wednesday, Blaze News reported on the incident in Houston. In the meantime, people are simply watching while three men beat the victim who later died.
Police posted regarding the 4:30pm attack on Sunday in Atlanta Mobile phone video Beatdown on Instagram in hopes that viewers will recognize the suspect.
The clip shows an attack taking place next to the aisle. The victim is on his back and side on the grass, with two men standing on top of him and repeatedly punching him. One of the suspects is one of the victims' pistol vip, and appears to have a gun from him. It appears that the third individual uses his foot to push down the victim's shoulder.
A little further from the violence, the video shows a large group of people (children and adults) gathered in the sun on a picnic table and a large grassy area. In fact, Waga said the place is “usually filled with family.”
Oddly, the attack is still ongoing several inches apart, but we can see obvious bystanders taking the time to mount the bike on the wheels against Paul. He then leaves.
Police said they met with the male victim. The man suffered from amputation of his head and face and appeared confused. Police said he was handled on the scene by EMS officials.
Police said that a firearm appears to have been clearly discharged from the hospital during the incident, but the victim was not shot dead.
Police said both male suspects fled the scene on foot and robbery investigators were actively investigating the case.
Police said anyone with information about the incident can anonymously submit tips to the Chipline at Crime Stopper Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477). www.stopcrimeatl.orgor text messages to CSGA and Crime Tips (738477). Police said those who appear before do not need to give names or identification information to qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
People in the park respond to attacks
Waga spoke with people in the park a few days after the attack.
“That is, where is human decency?” a woman said to the station.
“To be honest, it's crazy to think that you wouldn't expect something like that to happen here because there are so many people walking around,” Dove Aldaz added to Waga.
Brian Paralez, who was walking his dog, added to the station that “desired safety” in the area as a beatdown occurred in the sunset.
But Waga said that Paraleise protects himself: “I carry it whenever I feel I need it, and then I have my puppy. So I'm usually fine.”
