Crypto Group Takes Credit for Dildos Thrown at WNBA Games

Crypto groups are reportedly linked to a series of green dildos being thrown during various WNBA games.

An anonymous spokesperson, known on social media as @Daldo_Raine, mentioned to a news outlet that they had launched meme coins dubbed “green dildo coins.” Their intent, it seems, is to create a certain intrigue surrounding the coins. According to reports, multiple green adult toys have been thrown onto the courts in at least five WNBA games over the last two weeks, with the most recent incident occurring during a Tuesday game at Barclays Center.

In one notable case, a 23-year-old named Delbert Carver was arrested for throwing adult toys during a Valkyrie’s Dream match in Atlanta on July 29. He now faces charges that include disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. Similarly, an 18-year-old named Kaden Lopez allegedly threw an adult toy at a fan during the Mercury-Sun game, which also involved a young child. Lopez has been charged with disorderly conduct and assault, among other allegations.

The crypto group insists they are not connected to these arrests and clarify that they hold no animosity toward women’s sports.

The WNBA released a statement denouncing such pranks, labeling them as safety concerns. “The safety and enjoyment of everyone in our arena is our top priority,” the league said. They emphasized that throwing objects onto the court can pose risks to players, staff, and fans alike.

Furthermore, they noted that fans who deliberately throw objects could face a one-year ban, as well as potential legal repercussions.

Los Angeles Sparks coach Lynn Roberts expressed concern, calling the acts dangerous and foolish. Lynx coach Cheryl Reeves criticized them as sexist, mentioning that this kind of behavior perpetuates the sexualization of women.

“It’s ridiculous and reckless,” Roberts stated. “What’s more important is player safety. It’s just plain stupid.” Meanwhile, Reeves reflected on the historical context, noting, “This has been happening for a long time—the sexualization of women. This shouldn’t be treated lightly.” Running counter to their intent, the crypto group stated they do not oppose women’s sports.
