Dak Prescott faced mockery from a driver after a humiliating defeat, and then the situation deteriorated.

The Dallas Cowboys faced an unexpected defeat on Thursday night against the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and much of the blame rests on Dak Prescott’s shoulders.

To put it plainly, Prescott’s performance was dismal. He started strong, leading the Cowboys to a touchdown on their opening drive, but then seemed to disappear for the remainder of the game. He ended up with 316 passing yards but threw two interceptions, including a final one that sealed the game, thanks to a tipped ball in the red zone.

It was a disastrous night for the Cowboys, and, well, it’s hard to describe it as anything but that.

Jerry Jones, visibly frustrated in his suite after the last interception, reflected the mood of many fans who were nervous throughout the game. Things took a turn for the worse when Ceedee Lamb got hurt in the second half and barely contributed.

The critical takeaway? Dak just didn’t show up.

And, as you might guess, the feedback was relentless. I mean, it felt like everyone was voicing their opinions:

An off-camera voice, described as a car service driver by witnesses, could be heard saying “Embarrassing.” The driver added, “You heard me,” to which Prescott, seemingly agitated, replied, “You said it once I look off, huh?”

I mean, wow. That’s a tough scene! Not exactly the vibe in Jerry’s World right now, is it?

It’s true, this driver probably should’ve kept it to himself, considering he might have a check from Jerry in his future. But the truth is, he didn’t just flub his primetime performance; Dak did.

The Cowboys were 8.5-point favorites going into this game, facing a Buccaneers team that was struggling and without their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield.

Yet, somehow, they managed to win. On the road.

So, to reiterate, it wasn’t the worker who laid that dud—it was Dak. That’s just how it goes for quarterbacks in the NFL; it comes with the territory.

When your team wins, you’re the hero. When they lose, it’s all on you. Fair or not, it’s the way things play out.

And speaking of which, one has to wonder—what are the odds that Jerry might see this situation and give the driver a little bump up at work? I mean, he looked furious after Dak’s last interception. You could almost see the steam coming out of his ears in his suite.

Who knows—maybe this guy will be up in that booth for the next game!

One can only hope Dak pulls off a better performance next time around.
