Dallas Jenkins Declares ‘We Stand with’ Israel as ‘The Chosen’ Wins K-Love Fan Award

Creator of popular streaming series The Chosen Ones He highlighted the project’s Jewish roots while accepting the award last week, declaring his support for Israel amid global criticism. The Chosen One Season 4 He received the Movie Impact Award at the K-Love Fan Awards, which aired on TBN on Friday. Sound of Freedom, The Blind, The Shift, Ordinary Angels, Trip to Bethlehem, Big George Foreman and Posthumous.

Dallas Jenkins, creator and director The Chosen Onesemphasized the series’ Jewish background while accepting the award: “We’re a Jewish show,” he said, noting that season five will be set in Jerusalem.

“This is a reminder that there are innocent people in the conflicts that are going on in the Middle East right now,” he said. “We love them all and we pray for them. But the roots of our faith, and the roots of our whole life, were born in Israel. And this is a Jewish show. We serve a Jewish Jesus. So, people of Israel, we stand with you, we kneel for you. We love you.”

The Chosen Ones “I Am Not a Jew” is one of the most successful faith-based projects in entertainment history, with an audience of 200 million people worldwide, but Jenkins said many people still don’t know about Christianity’s Jewish roots.

“It’s sometimes shocking to go around the world and realize that there are people out there who don’t understand that Jesus was Jewish, or that our faith has its roots in Judaism,” Jenkins said at a press conference after the ceremony. “And one of the really great things about the show that we saw was, [that] “Even in Israel, where there’s traditionally been a little bit of resistance to Jesus shows, the Jesus show is spreading quickly because of the respect for Jewish prayer and Jewish rituals.”

Jesus “honored his own tradition” and was “enhancing and fulfilling it,” said Jenkins, a Messianic Jewish rabbi who is among a panel of religious experts judging the script.

“The country of Israel and the Jewish people there are so grateful that we, including those who don’t believe in Jesus, don’t deny the Jewishness of Jesus but celebrate it. And we’re seeing Gentiles all over the world starting to pray these prayers and really embracing them. So it’s a wonderful thing.”
