Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy mocked actor George Clooney for admitting he’s in a “vegetative state” for the first time in three weeks since a star-studded fundraiser that raised millions for President Biden.
“George Clooney, what a hero this guy is? Just came forward today. This guy held a fundraiser three weeks ago, raised tens of millions of dollars, became Biden’s co-chairman. And today he’s saying, ‘Hey, that veggie we saw at the debate is Biden’s veggie. He was a veggie three weeks ago.’ And he’s acting like he’s doing something heroic.”
In an essay published in The New York Times on Wednesday, Clooney called on Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, writing, “It shocks me to say this, but the Joe Biden I sat with at a fundraiser three weeks ago was not the ‘big’ Joe Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same person we all witnessed at the debates.”
“Party leaders need to stop pretending that 51 million Americans didn’t see what we saw at the debate,” he added. “We were all so terrified by the prospect of Trump’s reelection that we chose to ignore all the warning signs.”

The actor joins a growing list of Hollywood elites and big donors who have turned their backs on Biden after his halting, weak and at times confused performances in the debates spooked his supporters. Members of Biden’s own party, political allies and liberal media figures have also warned the president that he cannot beat former President Trump and are pressuring him to drop out of the race.
“So what is it, George? [Biden] “He wasn’t at the debates, he wasn’t a vegetable, and he was going to stay quiet,” Portnoy continued. “Now, if we know Biden is a vegetable, where have you been for the last two years? Everybody knows he’s a vegetable.”
Portnoy argued that Biden “can’t get on and off a stage without wavering. He talks about dead people as if they had lunch with him yesterday. He can’t ride a bike without falling. He can’t get on and off Air Force One without falling. God, he’s a vegetable. He’s been a vegetable for two years. Democrats don’t care.”
Biden supporter Michael Douglas tells “The View” he’s “deeply concerned” about the president’s ability to win.
He continued: “If I knew he was a vegetable, if Miss Peaches knew he was a vegetable. [referring to his dog] “If Clooney knows he’s a plant and the Obamas know he’s a plant and everyone in the world knows Joe Biden is a fucking plant, then why did he attend that debate? Because Democrats wanted to show the world their only option is to make him a fucking asshole,” he said, arguing that Democrats want to replace him with Gov. Gavin Newsom, whom he called a “hot bastard from California.”

Newsom has fully endorsed Biden and has said he has no plans to run against him if Vice President Kamala Harris takes the top spot in the race.
“It’s all dirty politics,” Portnoy said.
He said Democrats have been “comfortable” with shoving vegetables in our faces for the last two years. “They were comfortable raising money for vegetables three weeks ago. So, why not, let’s pit Trump against a head of lettuce and, let’s be honest, the votes would probably be even.”
He said people who voted for Biden don’t actually like the president, but rather dislike Trump.
“So, stop playing games and all that stuff. Everybody knows Biden’s a vegetable. So let’s vote,” he joked. “Trump on one side, lettuce on the other.”
She added that she doesn’t want to engage with Clooney’s “op-eds like, ‘Oh my god, Biden’s a vegetable. We can’t do this.’ You Democrats have known for two years that this guy’s a vegetable and yet you continue to support vegetables and shove lettuce in our faces.”

He accused Democrats of wanting to choose their own candidate, rather than have an election where they are free to choose another candidate: “So we let Biden win, and now the Democrats are going to say who’s next. It’s a game.”

He concluded: “They knew he was a lump of lettuce. Any smart person knew that.”
Fox News Digital reached out to representatives for Portnoy and Clooney but did not receive a response.
