DC Canna Coffee owner Greg Harris berates Uber Eats driver to ‘learn English’ in viral TikTok before health officials shut down store

A Washington DC coffee shop owner has launched a racist tirade at a Spanish-speaking Uber Eats delivery driver, demanding that he “learn English” and mocking his language.

Harris then grabs the driver's second mobile phone, apparently used to make the delivery, and continues to make racist remarks.

“I don't speak English,” Amundarain replied, as the infuriated coffee shop owner continued to shout at him.

The driver then begins speaking to him in Spanish, to which Harris is seen yelling angrily at the driver and making faces, uttering incomprehensible words.

“This is not your country! This is not your country! Learn English!” the owner shouted in the driver's face.

Harris continued to yell and taunt Amundarain, before repeatedly slamming the brown paper bag containing the food order that the delivery driver had been collecting into Amundarain's chest.

The video has been viewed nearly 20 million times since it was posted and sparked outrage against the DC coffee shop.

According to Fox 5, Amundarain said he filed a report with the Washington DC Police Department about the discrimination he experienced.

Police officials told the outlet they were investigating the incident as a hate crime and simple assault.

Uber later announced that it had removed CannaCoffee from its platform. post X on Wednesday.

“We are outraged by the behavior in this video. There is no place for hate on our platform. We have removed this business from our app and are working to verify the well-being of our delivery drivers,” the food delivery and ride-sharing company wrote.

As Amundarain was seen being reprimanded on camera, DC Health, which conducts pass/fail inspections of food establishments in the city, said Canna Coffee was operating illegally when its driver went to pick up the order. united states of america.

D.C. health officials said they inspected Canna Coffee on Sept. 11 and found the store had multiple violations.

Authorities immediately issued a closure order, closing the store on September 18 “until further notice.”

But Canna Coffee continued to operate and violated the order, officials told the news outlet.

Because authorities did not disclose any violations, Canna Coffee was immediately suspended.

It also emerged that the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) had been investigating the business for several months.

The DLCP filed two violation notices against Canna Coffee on May 13 and Aug. 8, but did not disclose why the notices were filed, a department official told WUSA9.

Harris and her lawyers are scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday, according to WUSA9.
