Leaders in Dearborn, Michigan, who helped propel President-elect Trump to victory in a key battleground state, have written a letter urging him to fulfill his promise to bring peace to Gaza.
A letter to President Trump released by the US Chamber of Commerce in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) states: “We are using our political influence to urge your administration and transition team to demand an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and Palestine.'' We encourage you to do so.” “This is consistent with your commitment to lasting peace.”
The letter indicates that the movement in Dearborn, which began as a protest against President Biden's handling of the Gaza war, eventually culminated in a campaign against Trump in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Michigan, both cities with large Arab-American populations. The announcement came after the president's shocking victory.

Those votes helped Trump win the key battleground state of Michigan, where the president-elect won by just under 1.5 percentage points.
President Trump has made support for Michigan's Muslim communities a successful campaign priority, garnering support from several community leaders in the Dearborn and Metro Detroit areas.
However, although President Trump has not yet taken office, the MENA US Chamber of Commerce argued that the president-elect's significant political influence could help end the conflict quickly.

With election victory, Trump's interests extend beyond the battlefield
“We urge you to seek an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and Palestine, while building long-lasting peace in the region,” the letter said. “Furthermore, we believe your team’s leadership will help advance a productive U.S.-Lebanon relationship.”
The group also acknowledged President Trump's commitment to peace, noting that it is consistent with the values of the Arab American community.

“Dearborn, Michigan, the city with the highest concentration of Arab Americans outside of the Middle East, is a city where you truly contribute to our community and where you are the best for our democracy, our economy, and our issues.” “We are red-hot in this presidential election because of our belief that the right choice is the right choice for foreign policy,” the letter said. “More than 3.5 million MENA Americans, some of whom live in battleground states, are proud to have helped your company win, especially in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. It shows that your company's values and concerns resonate with MENA Americans. ”
Trump's transition team did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
