Colorado Football Makes Roster Changes

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, head coach Deion Sanders announced that Colorado football has removed several players from its roster due to “conduct detrimental to the team.” The specifics of the incidents weren’t disclosed, but Sanders clarified that it wasn’t solely related to the Buffaloes’ 41-7 loss to Northwestern on Saturday.

Following the game, Sanders expressed his disbelief about players seeming to take the defeat lightly. He found it quite troubling that, as he was walking into the locker room post-game, some appeared unfazed, even finding humor in the situation.

“It’s never one [thing],” Sanders stated. “I’m known for being a loving and forgiving person, but when conduct starts affecting the team, it becomes a personal issue. Last season, I didn’t address it firmly enough, and it ended up spiraling.” He added, “I’m not going to let that happen again.”

In a follow-up to Sanders’ remarks, the program issued a statement noting that any potential roster changes are still in the works and an updated roster will be released soon.

Additionally, safety Ben Finneseth publicly apologized for comments made before the game, in which he criticized the stadium atmosphere, calling it “distracting” and likening it to a library. He later acknowledged that his remarks were immature and vowed to conduct himself better in the future.

As of now, Colorado holds a 2-1 record for the season and is preparing to take on Baylor in their first Big 12 matchup this Saturday.
