Florida Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz was in trouble Monday after he was accused of perpetuating racist stereotypes against Asians in a now-deleted post by X.
The post was in response to a CBS Mornings interview with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, from her upcoming book No Going Back, in which she reportedly met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Discussed the request to remove excerpts.
The Republican governor, who is rumored to be Donald Trump’s running mate, declined to directly answer whether the meeting actually took place, saying the anecdote should not have been included in the book.
It was the latest controversy Noem is facing over her book after receiving bipartisan backlash over how she once shot a hound.

In light of the controversy, Moskowitz fired back in a post on X: “Why does it seem like she wants to eat dog with Kim Jong Un?”
Moskowitz deleted the post after receiving backlash.

Politico reporter Nicholas Wu wrote that Moskowitz’s tweets played on stereotypes about Asians and dogs.
In response, Moskowitz wrote, “I have great respect for Nick as a great journalist.”
“I made a joke about two specific people, not others,” Moskowitz wrote. “But I never want to be insensitive and stereotyped. It’s no surprise that he called me out.”
Moskowitz deleted another post on X in March that included an edited photo of President Biden.
It featured a side-by-side photo of actress Sidney Sweeney wearing a revealing outfit for a recent Saturday Live appearance, and a shocked president as he arrived to deliver the State of the Union address.
The original photo depicted Biden’s reaction to seeing Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene during a speech.
