As of 11:25 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday, the Democratic Party’s official Facebook page page Former President Donald Trump had not issued a statement about the assassination attempt that left him bloody onstage.
On the Facebook page, post Earlier in the day, news broke that President Joe Biden (Democrat) had spoken to voters in Detroit on Friday about the upcoming election. Breitbart News updated its profile of the Democrat several times but did not include a statement about the shooting at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The Secret Service shot and killed the gunman, according to Breitbart News, which also reported that two rally attendees were seriously injured and another died.
Breitbart News also investigated Democrat X. account And as of 11:28 p.m. Eastern time, no statement had been made regarding the assassination attempt.
Former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton issued statements condemning the violence at the rally, according to Breitbart News.
In a statement released to Truth Social, President Trump detailed the incident, thanked the police officers at the scene, and offered his condolences for those killed and injured at the rally.
“I can’t believe something like this could happen in our country. At this point we don’t know anything about the perpetrator. He is already dead. I was shot above my right ear,” he explained.
“I knew right away something was wrong because I heard a whoosh and a gunshot and felt the bullets going through my skin. I was bleeding profusely and realized what was going on,” he continued, adding, “God Bless America!”
