Dem Rep. Ansari: My Request for Trump’s Removal Has Bipartisan Support, Including from Nick Fuentes

House Democrat Plans to Impeach Pete Hegseth for Supposed War Crimes Against Iran

Call for Presidential Accountability

Rep. Yasmin Ansari (D-Ariz.) discussed the demand for the 25th Amendment’s invocation during a Thursday broadcast of CNN’s “The Situation Room.” She noted that numerous Republicans who once staunchly supported President Trump—figures like Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Candace Owens, and Nick Fuentes—are now part of the conversation surrounding his impeachment.

Co-host Pamela Brown queried Ansari about her allegations, asking whether she believed both Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth should be removed from their positions due to wartime actions, and what specific impeachable offenses they might have committed.

Ansari highlighted Trump’s rhetoric, especially his comments on April 7. “He went on Truth Social and essentially threatened genocide against 90 million Iranians,” she said. “When he claimed that ‘the entire civilization will perish’ right after mentioning that he would take Iran back to the stone age, it suggests he is mentally unstable and unfit for office. The existence of a fragile cease-fire does not mitigate the seriousness of his statements. His words put the entire world at risk. This isn’t just a partisan issue; it’s broader than that. Along with Democrats, many Republicans now support invoking the 25th Amendment and addressing Trump’s actions. We’re witnessing over 40 days of an illegal war where America’s safety is compromised, an American serviceman has lost his life, and thousands of civilians have perished. More than a million people have been displaced in Lebanon, and just recently, we encountered the deadliest day of the Lebanon War, resulting in 200 civilian deaths and over 1,000 injuries. This is a clear and present danger to our country, and it’s imperative he be removed from office. I’m glad to see that several colleagues share this sentiment.
