Whiteside, a former Virgin Galactic CEO and NASA chief of staff during the Obama administration, was elected 27th in California.th Congressional District, the House seat for the North Los Angeles area.
Garcia's loss is notable.th The district was seen as a key opportunity for Democrats. President Biden defeated former President Trump there in 2020 by a 12-point margin.
But Republicans are expected to maintain a majority in the House of Representatives, giving them full control of Washington.
