Democrat Jerry Nadler Claims ICE Officers Are Covering Up Misconduct

Democrat Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, suggesting that they are concealing their identities behind “fraud” in an effort to distance themselves from illegal immigrants and criminals.

“These individuals are wearing masks and are entirely unidentifiable,” Nadler stated. “What remains unclear is the reason behind this.”

“It’s frankly inappropriate, and it leads us to wonder—maybe they’re hiding something or even cheating,” he continued.

The accusations against ICE officers come amid a notable rise in assaults against these agents, which have surged by 500% as they conduct operations to apprehend undocumented immigrants.

“Recently, the Department of Homeland Security released disturbing data indicating that ICE agents are facing a 500% increase in assaults during enforcement activities,” noted a spokesperson.

They referred to an incident earlier this week where an ICE officer was dragged 50 yards by a vehicle during the arrest of an undocumented sex offender, specifically mentioning Roberto Carlos Munoz, a convicted child sex offender.

“Every day, ICE agents are dedicated to protecting the lives of American citizens,” the spokesperson added.

The Department of Homeland Security responded to Nadler’s remarks on social media, labeling them as “sleazy” and emphasizing the increased danger faced by ICE agents during their work, which they attributed partially to the rhetoric of figures like Nadler.

“When ICE officers conduct their operations, they clearly identify as law enforcement, and wearing masks is a precaution against violent criminals,” the DHS explained.

Nadler’s comments coincided with actions taken by Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell (D-Parent), who allegedly interfered with ICE operations by publicizing their activities, thereby endangering their safety. This has prompted Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee and the House Judiciary Committee to initiate inquiries into the actions of Democratic leaders.

In response to Nadler’s statements, Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) pointed out that revealing officers’ identities puts them at risk from criminal organizations.

“These men and women risk their lives to make our communities safer by removing gang members, rapists, and other violent offenders,” she asserted.

Recently, reports indicated that ICE had rejected entries made by Nadler and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) into detention facilities within the 26 Federal Plaza.
