Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., blames the California fires on companies that ignored the “reality of climate change.”
“Corporations got us into this mess, but even corporations can't escape the devastating reality of climate change,” the Progressive Caucus co-chairs said on social media, as the wind blows and spreads. He shared a video of an apocalyptic scene at McDonald's. flame.
She's not the only leftist to blame climate change for the California fires. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) also weighed in, writing earlier this week: “80,000 people told to evacuate. Contains 0% Blaze. It's been eight months since it rained in this region. The scale of damage and loss is unimaginable.”
Like Jayapal, Sanders made no mention of poor forest management or government incompetence.

Neither appears to be responsible for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D), as she was actually traveling to Ghana when the fire broke out. She made things worse by cutting about $20 million from the city's fire budget and telling desperate residents to go to a URL for more help.
Additionally, Jayapal did not mention the fact that authorities are investigating the Kenneth Fire in Woodland Hills, near the south side of the San Fernando Valley, as a possible arson attack. The suspect has since been taken into custody.
