The report also showed that many of these children may be subject to exploitation, child labor, human trafficking, and other abuses. Despite the evidence, Jayapal declared on the House floor that HHS simply lost contact with the children after they were placed with adult sponsors.
“Today's hearing will be the majority's final attempt to use the same false argument that the Biden administration intentionally lost tens of thousands of children, but all We know that is factually incorrect,” Jayapal said. “And I'm sure [HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra] We're going to address this issue as well, but let's be clear: These kids are not lost. ”
