Democrats are concerned about Biden’s mental decline and a potential loss in the 2024 election.

Biden Diagnosed with “Aggressive” Prostate Cancer

Dr. Marc Siegel, a senior medical analyst, is set to join The Big Weekend Show to discuss former President Biden’s diagnosis of an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer.

Meanwhile, Senator Chris Murphy commented that it was a “mistake” for Democrats to let the then-81-year-old Biden proceed in the 2024 race. Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat and potential contender for the 2028 presidential run, voiced these concerns during a Sunday talk show.

In his interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Murphy stated, “I saw a president in control,” referencing his past collaboration with Biden on legislative matters. However, he acknowledged that by 2024, voters indicated a desire for a fresh face in the Democratic nomination process. “It was absolutely wrong for the party to not listen,” he added.

New Book Blames Biden for Harris’s 2024 Loss to Trump

Moreover, a recent book titled “The Original Crime: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” has stirred conversations about Biden’s cognitive state, alleging a cover-up regarding his diminishing awareness.

Longtime South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, a staunch Biden supporter, defended the former president’s leadership capabilities during a talk show, claiming, “I’ve never seen anything that would make me doubt his ability to do his job.”

As discussions around Biden’s health heat up again, particularly following leaked audio from a special advisor’s interview where Biden reportedly struggled with memory, the narrative seems to be shifting. The advisor characterized the president as “an elderly man with poor memory.”

Returning to key concerns, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was asked if Biden experienced cognitive decline during his term. “Every time I needed something from the West Wing, I got it,” Buttigieg responded, though he acknowledged, “Maybe, in hindsight, most would agree” that the party should have reconsidered Biden’s reelection bid.

Some radio hosts and political analysts have noted that voters are still trying to make sense of recent events and Biden’s state of mind. “It varies from candidate to candidate, based on their proximity to the president,” one radio host observed.

Biden’s diagnosis has raised further doubts following his poor debate performance against Trump, which spurred discussions among Democrats about continuing his campaign. He ultimately withdrew from the race about a month later, leading to Kamala Harris taking over as the nominee, who then lost in November.

Amidst this, California Rep. Ro Khanna has echoed sentiments that Democrats should have been more forthright in their evaluation of Biden’s candidacy. “In hindsight, it’s painfully clear that President Biden should not have run,” he remarked.

As Democrats brace for the realities of the 2028 election cycle, it’s evident that the fallout from Biden’s presidency continues to spark debate and reflection among key party figures.
