Democrats criticized for their reaction to Trump's ICE enforcement actions

Tom Homan: This was an “icy shot”

Trump’s former Border Chief, Tom Homan, has responded to remarks made by Rep. Delia Ramirez regarding her legacy and comments on the “Angle of Ingraham” in Indiana.

Amidst a surge at the border, the Trump administration ramped up enforcement of immigration laws, prompting some Democrats to react strongly. For instance, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York hosted a webinar titled “know your rights,” aimed at educating constituents in Queens and the Bronx about ice operations.

“Ice raids are often political tactics meant to instill fear,” one of the advisors at the Ocasio-Cortez webinar noted. One document from her office emphasized, “Don’t open the door” if agents arrive unless they present a signed judicial warrant.

Homan, commenting on the “Squad’s” initiatives, questioned the implications of such actions, pondering the impact on federal law enforcement operations.

Meanwhile, in Arizona, State Senator Analise Ortiz faced backlash for exposing ice operations in what some commentators have called “doxxing.” She defended her approach, drawing parallels to navigation apps that warn users about police activity.

Ortiz also challenged three Republican lawmakers, suggesting they could have used her methods to protect themselves better in the past.

House Republicans have raised concerns that the anti-ice rhetoric from Democrats may be inciting violence against ice agents.

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen stressed the need for federal investigation, insisting that civil servants should uphold the law and not undermine those enforcing it.

Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin countered by saying that Senator Ortiz is more focused on the actions of violent criminals than on American citizens.

In Georgia, a millennial lawmaker shared a video on social media, detailing how to avoid ice confrontations. Rep. Gabriel Sanchez noted the rising fear in their district and mentioned working on legislation to address these concerns.

Historically, Massachusetts Senator Michelle DuBois warned communities about potential ice operations, encouraging undocumented residents to seek help and be cautious.

DuBois stated that she wanted to relay important messages to the local Latin community ahead of possible raids. When questioned by press, she claimed that her communications were precautions to ensure community awareness.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson expressed strong disapproval of this behavior, describing it as undermining the efforts of law enforcement across the nation.
