After weeks of duds, proponents of a joint public-private campaign to neutralize Justice Samuel Alito on the U.S. Supreme Court believe they have finally got their hands on a bombshell: an audio recording of Justice Alito expressing hope for healing in the face of political polarization and acknowledging that one side may ultimately win in the ongoing culture war.
This time the sensationalist headline was produced not by New York Times Obama biographer Jodi Kantor, but by left-wing blogger Lauren Windsor, a self-described “advocacy journalist” working for Robert Creamer’s Democratic media team.

Annual Dinner on June 3Windsor approached Justice Alito and his wife, Martha Ann Alito, and secretly recorded a short conversation.
Windsor’s apparent aim, as well as that of Rolling Stone magazine, is to: Defamatory The publication first provided an audio recording, which Now streaming on X — They have tried to portray Alito as ideologically compromised and incompetent to handle cases related to the 2020 election, the Jan. 6 protests and former President Donald Trump’s Justice Department immunity. The problem for Windsor and other Democrat-leaning public-private campaigners is that, despite their framing and bogus noise;
recording It’s a relatively harmless move. In fact, it undermines previous assertions by public and private activists and makes clear that Justice Alito has no intention of weaponizing the Supreme Court, even against criminal leakers.
Windsor recorded Alito without his consent, but it is legal in Washington.
One-party consent state — suggested at the beginning that her fictional husband had implored her to “tell Justice Alito that he’s a fighter, that we think highly of him, that he’s got all the courage.”
After blowing some more smoke, Windsor raised the issue of political polarization and how to fix it.
“Given everything that’s happened over the past year, as a Catholic and as someone who really cares about my faith, I don’t know if I can negotiate with the left in the way that’s necessary to end the polarization,” Windsor said. “I think this is a matter of winning.”
“I think you’re probably right. One side will win. I don’t know,” Justice Alito said.
“So there can be ways to peacefully coexist,” the judge continued, “but it’s difficult because there are fundamental differences that cannot be compromised. There can’t be compromise. It’s not something that can be compromised.”
Responding to Justice Alito’s observations about the discrepancy between the modern liberal worldview and the right-wing worldview, Windsor said, “I think the solution is to win the moral argument, which is that people in this country who believe in God must continue to fight for it, to restore this country to a place of holiness.”
Justice Alito responded, “I agree. I agree.”
“It’s easy to blame the media, but I blame them because all they do is criticize us and they really undermine confidence in the courts.”

In the second recording, which appears to be from last year, Justice Windsor again asked Justice Alito how he would improve political polarization in the United States, to which Justice Alito responded, “I’d like to know. I don’t know. It’s easy to blame the media, but I blame them because all they do is criticize us and they really undermine confidence in the courts.”
“I don’t know, I really don’t know,” Justice Alito continued, “The American people as a whole need to address this issue. We need to try to heal this polarization, because this is very dangerous. I believe it is very dangerous.”
As Justice Windsor began to allude to the possibility of judicial activism, Justice Alito said, “I don’t think it’s something we can do. … We have a clear role to play, and we need to do what we need to do. But this is a bigger problem. It’s beyond our control.”
Later in the secretly recorded 2023 conversation, Windsor said:
Dobbs The decision will never be “dug up,” Justice Alito calmly admonished Justice Windsor, saying that such a task is not the job or purview of the Supreme Court.
“We are not law enforcement,” Justice Alito said. “Law enforcement can issue subpoenas, obtain search warrants, and do things like that, but we can’t do that. [U.S.] Marshall, she did the best she could, but there were limits.”
In both secretly recorded conversations, Justice Alito made no compromising statements, but Rolling Stone

Liberal publications, perhaps realizing they were writing yet another hollow article,
Wiretapping A conversation with Justice Martha Ann Alito at the same event last week, on June 3, made it clear that Justice Alito is ultimately striving to maintain neutrality, or the perception of neutrality, while respecting his wife’s independence.
Justice Windsor expressed sympathy for the hardships the liberal media has inflicted on Mrs. Alito, but her wife said, “It’s OK! It’s OK! … It’s OK because if they come back to me, I’ll get them. I’m going to be let go, and I’m going to get them.”
Alito made it clear that this could be an attempt to hold the liberal media accountable for what he considers to be defamatory.
Windsor asked about the trumped-up scandals surrounding the upside-down flag in her home and the “flag that appeals to heaven” at her beach house. Mrs. Alito clarified that contrary to the presumption that she is a “feminazi,” she is a woman of action who “will never be controlled” by Justice Alito, reinforcing Justice Alito’s previous statements after the New York Times false flag report.
Later in the conversation, Windsor pointed out, “They’re persecuting you, but you’re kind of a convenient stand-in for religious people.”
“Look at me. Look at me. I’m German. I’m from Germany. My ancestors are German. If you come after me, I’ll bring it back,” Mrs. Alito said. “And there’s always a way. It doesn’t have to be now, but there’s always a way. They’ll know. Don’t worry. Lord, read your Bible. Psalm 27 is my psalm. It’s mine. It’s a psalm: ‘The Lord is my God and my rock. Whom shall I fear? I shall fear no one.'”
When the question about polarization was raised, Mrs. Alito said the left “feels, doesn’t think,” and then said, “I want a Sacred Heart flag, because next month I’m going to have to see a Pride flag across the lagoon.” [Justice Alito] They say, “Oh, don’t put up the flag,” and I say, “I’m going to do what you say, so I won’t, but once you’ve freed yourself from this nonsense, I’ll put up the flag and I’ll send out a message every day, and maybe I’ll change the flag every week.”
