The Democratic National Committee (DNC) will elect a new chair and other key officials at the party's winter meeting on February 1 in National Harbor, Maryland.
DNC members are preparing to appoint a new leadership team. Roles to be played include Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and National Treasurer. According to Go to the DNC press release. Current DNC Chair Jamie Harrison has announced that he will not seek a second term and that the DNC will host four forums for chair candidates.
These forums, both in-person and virtual, will allow the 448 voting DNC members to interact with candidates and focus on members' questions and concerns, the press release added. Harrison said he and DNC staff will remain neutral and avoid endorsing or campaigning for any candidate.

The DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee will convene on Dec. 12 to develop procedures for selecting party officials. They will propose “procedural rules” for nominating and selecting candidates, which full members will vote on at the winter meeting starting Jan. 30. The election process includes a requirement for candidates to collect signatures from 40 DNC members to be listed on the ballot. , maintaining the standards set in 2021.
The DNC's voting membership includes 200 state-elected members from 57 states and territories, 16 affiliates, and 73 at-large members elected by the DNC itself, ABC News reported.
