DHS Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that the ICE shooting victim was 'following' agents.

Incident Involving ICE Agents and Shooting in Minnesota

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, stated in a press conference that the woman who was shot dead by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had been “stalking and harassing” them earlier that day.

Noem mentioned that ICE agents had repeatedly instructed the woman, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, to exit her vehicle and stop “obstructing” law enforcement, but she did not comply.

The incident has been categorized by the agency as an act of “domestic terrorism.”

Footage from the scene depicted Good’s vehicle halted in the middle of a residential street, with ICE agents in a gray Nissan Titan approaching her car.

Good allegedly told the agents to “take a detour,” and as they neared her Honda Pilot, one agent ordered her to “get out of the car.” She then put her vehicle in reverse in an attempt to flee, which led to her being shot.

Noem asserted that Good was trying to “use her car as a weapon” and was attempting to run over one of the officers.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey claimed that Good was shot in the head, expressing strong skepticism regarding the agency’s self-defense claims, calling them “bullsh*t.”

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz remarked he had viewed the video of the incident and urged the public to be cautious regarding the narrative presented by the Department of Homeland Security. He stated, “The state will ensure that a full, fair, and swift investigation is conducted to guarantee accountability and justice.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Enforcement are jointly handling the investigation.

The shooting has stirred sharp political reactions, revealing deep divides in Congress over the Trump administration’s immigration stance and ICE’s enforcement practices. Recent announcements revealed that DHS has dispatched 2,000 law enforcement officers to the Twin Cities to pursue “fraudsters, murderers, rapists, and gang members.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remarked that ICE operates without accountability and called for restraint from the agency, stating, “We just witnessed them murdering American citizens in cold blood.”

Vice President J.D. Vance voiced his support for the ICE officers, saying that the Trump administration backs them completely. He criticized those attacking the officers, suggesting they will go the additional mile to enforce the law.
