Testimony Reveals Drug Use by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
In a surprising courtroom revelation, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former personal assistant, David James, testified on Tuesday about the music mogul’s drug use. He described various pills, including those shaped like the face of former President Obama, which Combs allegedly took regularly.
When asked specifically which president, James replied, “President Obama.” This came as part of a broader account during Combs’ ongoing trial related to sex trafficking and assault, where he detailed the types of ecstasy pills that had been photographed.
James, who assisted Combs from 2007 to 2009, provided insights into the drug habits he observed. He remembered Combs referring to R&B singer Cathy Ventura, whom he dated for a decade, as “young” and “formable.” James had a front-row seat to the inner workings of Combs’ life, including drug use that he described quite frankly.
Continuing his testimony, he mentioned a wide array of medications stored in toiletry bags throughout hotel stays. “Some of them were Adderall, Tylenol,” he specified. He mentioned that Combs had other pills aimed at weight loss, enhancing sperm count, and a variety of recreational drugs, including ecstasy and Percocet.
According to James, Combs would receive drugs from a dealer known as “One Stop.” When prosecutors inquired about how often he witnessed Combs consuming drugs, he said, “I’ll say it every day.” He surmised that during business meetings, it was likely that Combs was under the influence.
In one notable incident, law enforcement photographed a collection of pills, baby oil, and large amounts of cash when Combs was apprehended at the Park Hyatt Hotel in September 2024. James recalled how Combs preferred checking into hotels under the pseudonym “Frank Black” and delegated the task of organizing his essentials and stocking his hotel room.
James reminisced about booking rooms for Combs, often at the Trump International Hotel when they were in New York. He also mentioned stopping by a nearby convenience store to pick up items like applesauce, Jello, Fiji water, and Ciroc vodka for him. Combs, now 55, has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces, which could lead to a life sentence if convicted.
