Disbar the Democrats Who Lost 9-0 at the Supreme Court

John Eastman, a former lawyer for then-President Donald Trump, has been sued by Democratic Party activists for legal advice he gave during a dispute over the results of the 2020 presidential election. Your license may be revoked.

A California judge disqualified Eastman on Wednesday, arguing that “his position is likely to be rejected unanimously by the Supreme Court” in giving advice on how to challenge the electoral votes. recommended.

This assertion mirrors assertions made at a committee hearing on January 6, 2022. Aide Vice President Mike Pence testified Eastman thought “we might lose 7-2,” but admitted that “we would lose 9-0.”

If it is wrong to try an argument with little chance of success in the Supreme Court, then all the Democrats who tried to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot and the lawyers who represented them must also be removed from office. No.

After all, the Supreme Court unanimously Colorado Secretary of State Jenna Griswold (D) rejected a decision to remove Trump from the vote, ruling that Trump had committed an “insurrection” and state judges agreed.

This was a direct attack on democracy. It was more direct than simply trying to get Trump’s lawyers to ask Congress, then state legislatures, to confirm that the vote totals were correct (and that democracy was working).

Just this week, the White House accused Venezuela’s authoritarian regime of trying to exclude leading opposition candidates from the vote. Democrats know that doing so is a direct and immoral attack on democracy.

So if Eastman is punished, then every Democrat, every lawyer, every judge who gave legal status to the effort to remove Trump from the ballot should also be disbarred. Unless, of course, we have two levels of justice.
