DNC fundraiser says Democrats have ‘stench of loser’ hanging over party following defeat to Trump

Lindy Lee, director of the Democratic National Committee's National Finance Committee, said President-elect Donald Trump's victory has weakened the Democratic Party to the point where it smells like a “loser.”

“Unfortunately, I think the Democratic Party has a stench of losers throughout the party,” Lee, a prominent fundraiser for the party, said on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

Big Tech leaders like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg have all either met with Trump or, in Altman's case, Trumped them after his election victory. I have donated directly to his inaugural committee.

Amazon plans to donate $1 million President Trump's Inauguration Fund. Mr. Altman also donated $1 million to Mr. Trump's inaugural fund, and Mr. Zuckerberg announced similar plans to strengthen his relationship with the president-elect.

“Speaking as a Democrat myself, I'm not happy to say this. I think the Democratic Party is going to be left in the wilderness for at least the next four to eight years, and Jeff Bezos is probably “He would be thanking his lucky stars that he withheld that support,” Lee said. “They are doing everything they can right now to continue de-escalation.”

Bezos ended his endorsement of the president by The Washington Post, which he acquired in 2013, just before Election Day this year. The decision infuriated some liberal staffers and reporters, who sought to abandon the paper's official position supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.

When asked about the tech industry's overall reaction to President Trump's victory, Lee said they are excited about his incoming administration.

“I think the technology industry welcomes the fact that Donald Trump is going to be the next president,” Lee said. “He is a big fan of cryptocurrencies and says he wants the U.S. to become the crypto capital of the world.”

Lee also spoke about the growing unpopularity of key Democratic policies, such as dealing with illegal immigration, and said voters are “fed up” with the party.

“I'm speaking as an immigrant,” Lee said. “For immigrants like me, who have become naturalized Americans and are proud and grateful Americans, it's very upsetting to see people flocking to this country without permission.”

Zuckerberg visited President Trump at Mar-a-Lago in early December, strengthening his relationship with the president-elect ahead of his inauguration in January.
