Dodgers Visit the White House After World Series Win

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers made a trip to the White House to celebrate their 2025 World Series championship.

In an outdoor ceremony held in the Rose Garden, Dodgers owner Mark Walter gifted President Donald Trump a jersey with the number 47, appropriately honoring the 47th president of the United States. Walter also handed over a championship ring to the president.

This marks the second consecutive year that President Trump has hosted the Dodgers, following their victory against the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series.

During a speech lasting about 20 minutes, Trump praised the achievements of the 2025 team, declaring their win over the Toronto Blue Jays as “one of the most thrilling championships in sports history.”

Thursday’s event was the Dodgers’ third visit to the White House in the 2020s, coming after their 2020 championship and a welcoming from former President Joe Biden in 2021.

Although there were scheduling conflicts, the Dodgers had not publicly confirmed whether they would celebrate their latest victory at the White House. Their season-opening series against the Nationals took place in Washington, D.C., but all three games had afternoon start times.

It took some time to navigate scheduling issues, but after several months, the Dodgers finally made it to the capital on their day off to commemorate their 2025 World Series win.

Visits by sports teams to the White House during Trump’s presidency have sparked some controversy. Nevertheless, most Dodgers players chose to embrace the tradition, regardless of the surrounding debates.

Only a few players, including Mookie Betts, Edgardo Henriques, and Quique Hernandez, were absent due to logistical reasons.
