On Tuesday's “The Charlie Kirk Show,” Peter Schweiser, senior contributor to Breitbart News and chairman of the Government's Institute of Accountability, spoke about Doge's work.
Schweiser said that while some of his opposition to Doge is a reflexive opposition to everything Trump does, and there's a lot of talk about waste and abuse, “There's a deeper fight that's going on here. [is] For the political class in Washington, DC, it is a business model. Looking at USAID and some of these government agencies, the bulk of contract funding doesn't actually go to developing countries. It stays in the Washington Beltway for consultants run by political operatives who help people get elected. So I think part of the pushback in Washington, DC, is based on the fact that this slash fund that we've been running for the last few years has been shut down or exposed. …And that's the most valuable thing to me. ”
