Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in the national race, according to the latest poll from March from McLaughlin & Associates.
investigation Asked Respondent:
Now, if the 2024 presidential election were held today, the following best describes how you would vote in the presidential election between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Which one is it?
In a head-to-head race, Mr. Trump leads Mr. Biden by 6 points, 49% to Mr. Biden’s 43%. This is a 2-point increase from President Trump’s 4-point lead in January.
Of the 49% who said they supported Trump, 35% said they would “definitely” vote for him, 8% said they would “probably” vote for him, and 6% said they were leaning toward Trump. Meanwhile, 30% said they would “definitely” vote for Biden, followed by 9% who said they would “probably” vote and 4% who said they would vote for the 81-year-old. The remaining 8% of him remains undetermined. Trump and Biden are neck-and-neck in this match among independents, each with 41% support.
The survey also looked into the presidential race, including candidates from third parties. In this scenario, Trump would still maintain a 4-point lead, with 38% support and 34% for Biden. Another 12% chose independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., followed by Cornel West with 2% and Jill Stein with 2%. The remaining 9% of him remains undecided.

In this showdown, independents are once again divided, with 24% supporting Trump, 25% supporting Biden, and 24% supporting RFK Jr. The remaining 19% remains undecided.
The survey was conducted among 1,000 general election voters from March 9-14, 2024. This comes as Biden continues to attack Trump, especially after the former president’s interview with Breitbart News in which he said Trump would “never do anything that would jeopardize or hurt Social Security or Medicare.” After making it clear.
“We’re going to have to do it somewhere else,” Trump said. “But we’re not going to do anything to hurt them.”
