Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to take part in a conversation with attendees of the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual conference and job fair in Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Trump-Vance campaign, the conversation will address “the most pressing issues facing the Black community.”
Three journalists will host the event: Rachel Scott of ABC News, Harris Faulkner of Fox News and Kadia Goba of Semaphore.
This comes as Trump is making inroads with black voters as he seeks to return to the White House in 2024. It also comes as Democrats dropped President Joe Biden as their top 2024 presidential candidate in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, whose mother is Indian and father is Jamaican.
“President Trump has done more for Black Americans than any other president in recent history by implementing America First policies on the economy, immigration, energy, law and order and foreign policy,” the campaign added.
“A historic percentage of black voters are now supporting President Trump, and the reason is simple,” the Post continued. “Black voters know that President Trump is the only candidate who can deliver results on Day One of the election because he’s already delivered results, including record unemployment rates for black Americans, increases in median income for black households, historic permanent funding for HBCUs, comprehensive bipartisan criminal justice reform, and nearly $50 billion in funding to revitalize Opportunity Zones.”
