WASHINGTON – The Department of Transport announced Thursday that it was a prosecutor on the sidelines that it claimed “very unlikely” to be successful in the agency’s move to eliminate crowd pricing in New York.
The Manhattan lawyer was then replaced by others in the Department of Justice’s civil division. A Dot spokesperson said the Southern District of New York has blown up due to “legal misconduct” that it leaked internal deliberations about the traffic program.
“Is the SDNY lawyer in this case incompetent or did he try to resist? At least that’s legal misconduct,” said spokeswoman Halee Dobbins. “It’s sad to see the best legal organisations continue to fall into this disgrace.”
“The SDNY memo does not represent reality. Kathy Hochul’s congestion pricing war on the working class was quickly approved by the Biden administration after Donald Trump was elected,” she added.
“Taxpayers have already closed to the public while Hochul is driving and there is no free alternative. This is unprecedented illegal. If New York doesn’t close it, the Department of Transport is considering suspending the state’s projects and funding.”
Three prosecutors submitted an 11-page memo late Wednesday night, which was subsequently removed from the docket.
The US lawyer assistant hinted at other slightly feasible measures “as a matter of changing agency priorities.”
The Biden administration has green lighted traffic jam taxes as part of the dot pilot program.
