Driver ‘intentionally’ hit, killed Florida man in early morning hit-and-run: police

St. Petersburg police said a man was found dead after being hit by an unknown vehicle on the road early Monday morning.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, officers were called to the scene just before 2:45 a.m. after receiving a report of an adult man lying at a road intersection.

Police said paramedics were also called, but the man died at the scene from his injuries.

According to a press release, officers were able to identify the victim as Tywan James Grand, 35.

During the preliminary investigation, officers were able to determine that Grand had been struck by an unknown vehicle.

St. Petersburg police say they are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a Florida man early Monday morning as a homicide. (St. Petersburg)

Police also announced that the hit-and-run accident is currently being investigated as a homicide. Detectives determined the driver intentionally struck the victim.
