Economic growth can unify voters: Vivek Ramaswamy

Vivek Ramaswami, a former 2024 presidential candidate and current Trump supporter, said Americans facing economic hardship can find common ground between the two parties.

“Prices have gone up. Interest rates have gone up. Mortgage rates have gone up. Wages have not kept up. And that’s why Americans are rejecting Bidennomics. We know how it’s affected us. And I think economic growth can be a unifying issue,” he said during an appearance on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow.

“Democrats have rejected this. As Republicans, I think it’s time for us to once again embrace this as our message with dignity, and I think we can unite many Americans across party lines,” he added.

Persistent inflation has pushed up the prices of everyday items, including basic food items: The price of beef, for example, is up 7 percent annually, while the price of canned vegetables is up nearly 5 percent, according to the April Consumer Price Index.

Rising interest rates have put the dream of homeownership out of reach for many, with rates on a 30-year fixed mortgage hovering just under 7%, and overall inflation is well above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.

“The way we remind the American people of that is really through our own success, through reviving a sense of American exceptionalism, through the revival of the economy and economic mobility and the American Dream in this country. And I think that’s why Donald Trump’s message, the America First message, has resonated so widely,” he noted.
