The list includes Ivy League schools, state universities and small institutions of higher education. Among the researched include Yale University, University of Kentucky, Ithaca University, University of Alabama, University of Chicago, University of South Florida, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Education Bureau's Civil Rights Office has accused the agency of violating Title VI, which prohibits race-based discrimination in education.

The investigation comes after the department sent a letter from a dear colleague on February 14th, then told the university to remove Day.

The letter said the schools found compliance would not receive funding cuts.

“This sector will no longer tolerate the obvious and secret racism that is prevalent in educational institutions in this country. The law is clear: it treats students differently based on race to achieve ambiguous goals such as diversity, racial balance, social justice, and equity.

The administration has revealed that universities and universities will be key targets during President Trump's second term.
