El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele: Gangs idolize Satan, including some in the US

El Salvador’s President Addresses National Prayer Breakfast

During the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele raised some alarming concerns regarding the country’s gangs. He stated that these violent groups have a well-documented history of Satanism and that some members have crossed into the United States.

“Many people don’t realize that our enemies are not just physical. They are also spiritual. These gangs don’t merely kill, rape, and extort; they actually worship the devil,” Bukele asserted at the Capitol. “When we went to arrest them, we found an altar used for satanic rituals.”

He pointed out that they had shared photos and videos of these findings; however, they weren’t picked up by mainstream media, which he found perplexing. “We know the Salvadoran gangs are satanic and worship the devil,” he added.

Bukele warned a mix of lawmakers and business leaders that “some of these gangs are here in the United States.” Previously, he mentioned that El Salvador’s security forces discovered “satanic” altars connected to MS-13 during various raids.

The Salvadoran president, who aligns himself with Trump, has made an agreement with the U.S. to receive hundreds of Venezuelan gang members currently in the United States for confinement in El Salvador’s notorious maximum-security prison by 2025.

Bukele has indicated that crime rates surged in his country after implementing strict law-and-order policies to combat gang violence.

Reflecting on the past, he stated, “El Salvador was famously known as the murder capital of the world. It was the most dangerous place globally, but now it’s considered the safest country on the continent.”

During the same event, President Trump spoke about his administration’s commitment to safeguarding religious freedom. He quoted the Founding Fathers, asserting, “They proclaimed that we were all made free and equal by the hands of our Creator.” Notably, he criticized some politicians for avoiding mentioning God, asserting, “The divine right to life and liberty is given to us not by the government but by Almighty God Himself.”
