An elderly couple was beaten by a would-be robber on a Manhattan sidewalk Saturday night and fled shirtless after the attack, police and law enforcement officials said.
According to police and officials, around 10:25 p.m., a 75-year-old man and his 70-year-old girlfriend were walking on West 44th Street in Midtown when someone tried to snatch the woman's wallet.
Police say the suspect threw the woman to the ground and then tried to steal her companion's wallet.
The man allegedly punched the man in the face multiple times, tore his shirt and fled empty-handed.
Authorities released footage of the suspect walking through the city after the assault.
The woman suffered a nosebleed and pain in her elbow and neck, and the man suffered serious injuries to his eye and face, the NYPD said.

Both were taken to Mount Sinai West-New York City in stable condition.
