“What do you think about Elon Musk, President Trump's most prominent adviser, giving the Nazi salute?” Murphy asked Stefanik during the hearing.
“That's not the case at all,” Stefanik said. “Speaking of which, the American people see through it. They support Elon Musk.”

“But right-wing commentators praised it. White supremacists rallied behind it. Does that matter to you?” Murphy asked, pushing Stefanik.
“What concerns me is that you believe this is the most important thing to ask the UN ambassador,” Stefanik said. “President Trump received historic recognition from voters for his leadership against anti-Semitism.”
Stefanik spoke at a House Education Committee hearing in December 2023 regarding anti-Israel protests following the terrorist attack by the Islamic extremist terrorist group Hamas on October 7, 2023, that killed more than 1,200 people in southern Israel. At the meeting, he criticized top university administrators.
Stefanik was also an outspoken defender of President Donald Trump after the 2020 election and criticized the Jan. 6 task force set up by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She also filed an ethics lawsuit against Juan Marchan, the New York judge who oversaw Trump's criminal trial on a felony charge of falsifying business documents.
