Elise Stefanik vows to take on ‘den of antisemitism’ and ‘apologist for Iran’ at the UN

In a speech Tuesday, U.N. ambassador-designate Elise Stefanik issued a scathing and surprising rebuke of the organization she will serve as special envoy for, calling the U.N. the “den of anti-Semitism” she intends to confront. He accused it of being.

Stefanik (R-N.Y.), 40, the outgoing chairman of the House Republican Conference, announced in a speech at the Middle East Foundation that he would be the first to take up the role of U.N. ambassador, predicting future hostilities at the U.N. Offices and committees were vacated. Truth (EMET).

“We know that the United Nations is a den of anti-Semitism,” she said at EMET's annual dinner, where she received the Light in the Dark Award.

“Ever since the barbaric terrorist attack, and even before that, [from] Hamas said on October 7 that the United Nations continues to betray Israel and the United States and act as an apologist for Iran and its terrorist proxies. ”

Stefanik pointed to examples of UN betrayal, such as UN Women. Last week, President-elect Donald Trump announced Stefanik would be the United States' ambassador to the United Nations. Since then, Stetofanik has kept a low profile in the public eye as he prepares to lay low and be promoted to the role.

But at a dinner hosted by EMET, a pro-Israel think tank in Washington, D.C., Stefanik made clear how he views the United Nations, which is often maligned among conservatives.

She also lavished praise on President Trump, noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised former President Trump as “the best friend Israel has ever had.”

“I think it's clear to the world that if President Trump were in the White House today, what's happening at the United Nations would never have happened, because October 7th would never have happened,” she said. I said no.

“I support President Trump's America First, Peace Through Strength policy and will bring moral truth and crystal clear moral clarity to the United Nations on day one,” she vowed.

Stefanik visited Israel in May, addressing parliament and touring the sites of Hamas' brutal and bloody massacres.

“Each of these visits to Israel underscores to me the fundamental fact that Israel is a miracle and Israel is fundamental to America,” she reflected.

The Empire State Republican also recalled explosive exchanges with the presidents of Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology during a Congressional hearing on anti-Semitism on college campuses last year.

During the hearing, Stefanik asked the three university presidents whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” violated campus policy, but none explicitly stated that it did.

“I just couldn't get an answer. So when I thought about this last question that I wasn't prepared for, I thought, 'What's the easiest way to ask this?' I thought. [be] answer[ed] Correctly,” Stefanik recalled the series of questions.

“Shameful attempts to contextualize the genocide of the Jews are a symptom of decades of moral decadence, intellectual laziness, and dangerous radical left-wing groupthink in so-called elite organizations throughout society.”

Stefanik stressed that “this fight is not over. It's only the beginning.”

Hungary's ambassador to the United States, Szaborcs Takács, said the New York representative may have international allies in her fight, adding that his country believes that once President Trump takes office, “the relationship between the United States and Hungary will take a very positive turn.'' I'm very confident that it will happen.”

“The new Trump administration will bring new hope for peace to the Middle East,” he told the Post.

Shabbos Kestenbaum, a Harvard student who later testified before Congress about anti-Semitism on campus, was similarly awarded the Dark Light Award.

Kestenbaum reflected on his meeting with Stefanik and praised her leadership during a frightening period on campus when some of her Jewish friends took steps to hide their identities out of fear.

The Empire State Republican ended his speech by reminding us of the hostages currently held by Hamas, including seven Americans.

“We must not stop and we will not stop until all hostages are returned home,” she declared.

Stefanik has already drawn bipartisan cheer for confirming President Trump's appointment as U.N. ambassador, including from Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Pa.). This includes pro-Israel Democrats such as (D-Florida). He gave a speech at the Rays of Light in the Darkness Awards dinner.
