Elon Musk Announces Plans to Change 'SpaceXAI' to 'SpaceXSI' Following Trump's 'Super Intelligence' Rebranding

Elon Musk Renames SpaceX’s AI Unit to SpaceXSI

Over the weekend, Elon Musk revealed that SpaceX’s artificial intelligence division will be rebranded as SpaceXSI. This change comes in response to a presidential directive that encourages federal agencies to stop using the term “artificial intelligence” in favor of “super intelligence.”

Musk announced the change on social media platform X, stating, “No more AI, SI, It’s better.” However, he did not provide any specifics on when the rebranding would occur. As of now, SpaceXAI’s social media account has not been updated to reflect this new name.

This decision is linked to an executive order issued by President Donald Trump on September 29, directing agencies to replace terminology in official documents and communications. The order specifies that “super intelligence” encompasses the same technologies currently encompassed by the definition of artificial intelligence. Additionally, it calls for the President’s Assistant for Science and Technology to propose formal legislation within 60 days to create an official federal definition for “super intelligence.”

Trump hinted at this terminological shift during a recent speech to the United Nations General Assembly, stating that all U.S. documentation—and ideally, globally—should transition to using “super” instead of “artificial.”

Furthermore, Breitbart News noted that Trump is launching a new initiative called the “Super Intelligence Force” under the leadership of AI Czar Jay Clayton. In a recent announcement on Truth Social, Trump shared details about this new body, established in response to growing calls for regulatory oversight of AI technology.

Trump’s post discussed the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF), which will collaborate with federal agencies, following a meeting he held with leaders from major AI companies. He referred to this event as the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, where tech leaders expressed their commitments to the American public.

David Sacks observed that when leading AI figures, such as Dario Amodei and Sam Altman, call for a slowdown in AI development, their motives may not be entirely altruistic, as they might want to secure their position in the industry while evading antitrust regulations—a nuance that Trump’s new initiative seems to acknowledge. Similarly, Wynton Hall, director of social media at Breitbart News, authored a bestselling book titled Code Red: The Left, the Right, China, and the Race to Control AI, exploring how the MAGA movement can develop AI policies that serve humanity without ceding control to Silicon Valley or allowing China to dominate globally.
