But Musk, a vocal critic of the border crisis, clapped back at the statement posted to the president's X account.

“There is no need to pass a law,” Musk wrote. “All we need is an executive order requiring evidence before granting asylum hearings. That used to be the case.”

Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX and X, has previously claimed that gaining asylum status after illegally crossing the southern border is as easy as a Google search.
