Sweatshirt-wearing John Fetterman has had some bad reviews and even worse gaffes, but his redemption story may just have begun.
Fetterman criticized South Africa for filing a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice over the Gaza war, saying South Africa “should shut up about this”.
Fetterman added that he believed it was “remarkable” that South Africa would file a lawsuit, given the country's history.
Asked to explain his comments, Mr Fetterman said in a statement: “South Africa should instead focus on the humanitarian cries in its own continent, including in Sudan, where widespread atrocities have displaced more than 7 million people. ” he said.
As clips of Fetterman's comments began circulating on X, conservatives around the world were perplexed by his sudden intellect.
Even Elon Musk, who himself is from Johannesburg, South Africa, tweeted, “He's right.”
Dave Rubin agrees.
“In a strange turn of events, the sane Democrat in the Senate on this is John Fetterman,” a shocked Rubin commented.
