Tesla has issued recalls of nearly 46,100 CyberTrucks as external trim panels on the vehicle could pose a risk.
A recall report from the electric vehicle company said Tuesday that an external trim panel called a Canterire could potentially deviate from the affected vehicle if it were delusional.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), can rails that fall while a truck is being driven “will become a hazard to the road and increase the risk of crashing.”

According to an NHTSA recall report, there were no collisions, injuries or deaths due to Cybertruck Cant Rails Detaching. However, as of mid-March, Tesla had more than 151 guarantee claims that could be linked to the issue.
The company produced cybertranks, which have been recalled for the issuance of Canterir between mid-November 2023 and late February this year, the recall report states.
Tesla does not destroy cybertruck delivery, but the recalled vehicles represent the majority of cybertruck vehicles on the road, based on analyst estimates.
Tesla said it will install a new can rail free of charge on the recalled cyber truck, which “meets durability testing requirements.”

The replacement can rail “incorporates the assembly using different structural adhesives that have environmental conjugation and will not cause environmental insanity. This is reinforced with studs welded to the stainless panels with nuts that clamp the steel panels to the vehicle structure,” the automaker said in a report from the NHTSA.

According to Tesla, affected customers can expect the panel exchange process to take about an hour.

Tesla made up the majority of US recall vehicles in 2024, tops the list of recalls with vehicles with 5.1 million callbacks, according to recall management company Bizzycar. However, most issues with branded cars were usually resolved with an air software update.
Tesla has been targeted for “vicious violence,” the White House says.
In addition to CyberTruck, Tesla's lineup includes the Model S, Model 3, Model Y and Model X. We also produce electric semi-trucks.
Cybertrucks first began appearing in the market in November 2023.
