Elvira Comments on Ariana Grande’s Past Behavior
Elvira, also known as Cassandra Peterson, has recently reiterated her criticism of Ariana Grande almost a year after publicly addressing rude behavior from the singer during a past encounter. The horror icon, now 74, previously accused Grande, 32, of unkind actions at one of her “Dark of the Dark” shows.
Grande later expressed regret, explaining her inability to recall the incident was linked to an anxiety attack she was experiencing at that time.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Peterson elaborated on her initial claims and shared her thoughts on Grande’s apology. “I really talked about what happened. She did it. I wasn’t making it up. It was very uncomfortable,” Peterson remarked. She noted that most celebrities who attended her shows treated her with respect and kindness, contrasting this with her experience with Grande.
“When you hear such things and learn such things, that’s a shame,” she reflected. “That’s sad. But, well.”
Peterson first disclosed her encounter with Grande in October 2024, igniting ongoing discussions about Grande’s alleged “diva” behavior.
During a Q&A session at Knott’s Scary Farm, Peterson recounted the experience but didn’t specify when it occurred. She mentioned that Grande arrived with a group of 20 guests and requested 21 tickets. “I said, ‘OK,’” Peterson recalled. Grande then inquired about taking photos with her friends but declined to have a photo taken with Peterson herself.
“And she left before my show started. All her relatives remained,” Peterson added.
Later, Peterson shared a screenshot on Instagram featuring articles about their conflict. Following this, Grande commented on a post, expressing disappointment about the situation. She admitted not remembering the encounter well and described a past anxiety issue she faced during public gatherings.
Grande also acknowledged her mother’s positive experience with Peterson, though she humorously noted her mom might have a different take now. “I’ll talk to her… obviously we all have our days!” she wrote.
In her conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Peterson critiqued the sincerity of Grande’s apology, questioning whether it truly reflected her feelings. She noted the comment about her mother liking Peterson previously but not anymore raised eyebrows.
Since their last communication, Peterson has chosen not to pursue further dialogue with Grande, feeling disappointed by the exchange. “After that response from her, no, I just let everything fall,” she said.
Peterson concluded with a note of hope that Grande would grow from this experience, remarking, “When you’re young and you’re in show business, you’ll learn a lot of lessons along the way and you’ll be a little more humble. Hopefully, it’ll happen with her.”
Meanwhile, Grande has previously addressed accusations of diva behavior, revealing in a 2020 interview that she refrained from media engagements to avoid misrepresentation. She advocated for women’s voices in the industry, challenging the hassle that comes with public scrutiny.
