Employee at special education school accused of engaging in sexual relations with a student

Authorities have arrested a staff member at a special education school in Arizona after a video allegedly showed him engaging in sexual acts with a 17-year-old student.

Charlotte Huesby, a 24-year-old treatment support staff member at the Austin Center for Exceptional Students in Peoria, was linked to the incident, which involved another student who had reportedly engaged in sexual activity with a minor just the previous week, as detailed in court documents.

An accuser informed the police that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with Huesby that began shortly after they first met at school last year.

Reportedly, Huesby recorded the encounters that took place in a hotel room.

Concerns arose when a school supervisor noticed “inappropriate texting” between Huesby and the student on August 28, prompted by another student disclosing information about the situation to a guidance counselor.

Subsequently, another student mentioned to the counselor that a video of the incident was circulating in a social media group chat.

Authorities also stated that Huesby had other videos documenting the sexual acts.

Having worked at the school for six years, Huesby was removed from her position and questioned by the police, during which she admitted to sexual relations with the boy between 10 and 15 times, leading to two counts of charges for engaging in sexual activities with a minor.

The father of the accuser told investigators that his son had been in a relationship with an 18-year-old high school senior named Angie, later identified as Huesby.

The boy reportedly spent “almost every weekend with Charlotte” since 2024 and most of his summer vacation in 2025 with her, according to his father’s statements to the police.

The father expressed surprise, saying, “I never knew Charlotte was 24 years old and worked there,” according to the police report.

Huesby is set to appear in Maricopa County Superior Court on September 11.
